Azure designs and produces stainless steel sail sculptures, trophies and prizes for some of the world's most prestigious regattas. These have been presented and proudly displayed at numerous International Yacht Clubs. The designs can be purchased as striking and modern art pieces for the home or office. Works, such as that presented at the 'Yachtsman of The Year Awards', are available from selected galleries and directly from the artist.

A prestigious event deserves unique well designed prizes worth winning and Azure was created to deliver these.



Azure dragon won the Europe-wide design competition organised by the Norddeutsche Regatta Verein (NRV) in Hamburg to design and make all the trophies and prizes for the Nordstream race ( This prestigious event was sponsored by Gazprom and took place from Flensburg to St Petersburg in September. We created two new designs (one to be displayed in Hamburg and one in St Petersburg) on a teardrop shaped carbon fibre base which will be perpetual and competed for on the next running of the event.    

The Young Skippers Trophy for Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 2013 has been designed and made by Azure, as has the prize for the Singapore edition of the Extreme 40 International Circuit (11-14 April) - again sponsored by Aberdeen Asset management.

Jaguar-Landrover have taken over sponsorship of the Extreme-40 Series and we created a trophy to be competed for at the event in Cardiff

Azure Dragon exhibits regularly at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January. At the 2013 event the full range of designs was on display.

Azure Dragon has lots of ideas for the racing ( or cruising) sailor. They make excellent Christmas or birthday presents. 

Azure made all the awards for the 2012 Pantaenius young sailor of the year, which was won by Saskia Sills and presented at the 2013 Excel boat show.


The Westward Cup, inaugurated by the Royal Yacht Squadron, the New York Yacht Club and the Yacht Club of Monaco to celebrate the launch of the schooner Westward was a 'must see' classic event. The line up included Mariquita, Mariette and Tuiga. Boat International  commissioned Azure to design and make the trophies and prizes for their race day for this very prestigious event. We  created unique sail sculptures for their Super-Yacht regatta at the YC Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo.

The Audi Med Cup , held at a series of venues round the Mediterranean in TP52s and Soto 40s has a line up of multi gold medal winning sailing talent in each competing team. Azure  made the prizes for the Marseilles, Cagliari, Cartagena and Barcelona editions. 

The Super-Yacht Cups in  Antigua, Palma and the YC Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo.  Azure has designed and made the prizes for the Pantaenius race days as well as the Offshore Racing Congress world championship in Flensburg.

The 'Sailor of the Year' trophy for Germany's Olympic Team was designed and made by Azure

Azure made the perpetual 'Corinthian Trophy' for the quarter ton cup

RS sailing supports the RYA's On Board scheme to get young people into sailing and there are 3 new awards commissioned by RS and the RYA. The RS Tera , RS 500 worlds and RS 100 nationals and European regatta prizes also came from Azure.

The 'boat of the week' for Cork Week is an Azure design

The Lymington Town SC winter series already has trophies for IRC class 1 and to this will be added a new one for the RS Elite class

The first Beneteau 31.7 nationals had Azure trophies for the IRC rated boats and the level rating class.   

Azure makes the lifetime achievement award presented by Boating Business for an outstanding contribution to the marine industry, as well as the rest of the awards for Mercator Media.

The Westmacott regatta to celebrate the designs of Alfred Westmacott  had Azure designed prizes. The classes participating include the Portsmouth Victorys, the X boats, and the Sunbeams

There was a presentation to Dee Caffari by Portsmouth City Council to celebrate her achievement in the Vendee Globe and in sailing round the world against the prevailing winds and tides.

There was a new design for the Laser SB3s and there were several regattas for a series of these this year including one won by the current world champion. The laser SB3 'city of cape town' won the Boat of the Week trophy at Cork Week that was designed and made by Azure as was a 'foiling' trophy for the Bloody Mary pursuit race at QMSC sponsored by Hyde sails

The 25th anniversary superyacht regatta of Boat International at the YC Costa Smeralda - Porto Cervo  had stunning new trophies from Azure as had the Artemis Challenge for the Volvo 60s at Cowes Week.

For the Artemis  Transat, Musto  chose an Azure design for their Newfoundland Trophy  presented for the IMOCA open 60 first across the race gate at Newfoundland. Congratulations to Loick Peyron for winning it.

Azure made one of the trophies for the round Britain powerboat race

The first Elan regatta and the Intel regatta had Azure prizes as had many other events including the first RS Tera nationals at Hill Head SC,the Ancora Cup at Lubeck ( Ancora Marina is the largest in Germany) and the Flying Dutchman class northern area championship.

The Warsash spring series again had an Azure design as first prize as did the RS Feva and RS Tera World Championships. Azure made all the awards for the RS regatta on lake Garda

Azure  designed and made the overall black group and white group trophies for Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week

For the  Volvo Ocean Race, Azure  designed the Musto seamanship award for an outstanding example of seamanship during each leg.

The Royal Ocean Racing Club  commissioned a sculpture to be presented to Dame Ellen Macarthur to celebrate her record breaking voyage. This takes the form of an albatross circling the world.

Azure strongly supports classic yachting and provides all the trophies for the British Classic Yacht Club regatta at Cowes - see .There  was keen competition from the 6 metres in the build up to the world championship and meter regatta at Cowes. Azure made the silverware when 60 boats raced for the world championship at Cowes. There were new designs for overall first, second and third for both classics and moderns as well as a 'prix d' elegance' for the most beautiful yacht. It was  a truly classic summer with some very graceful boats out racing.

In 2008 the BCYC/ metre regatta was the one to watch with Mariquita, Mariette, Tuiga, and the Lady Anne, when the  big class yachts from a bygone era returned to Cowes. There was a new Azure design for these which was won by Tuiga.

Azure also has as its charity sail4cancer , and increased its involvement  with the Manches Cup. S4C was the official charity for the 2007 6-metre worlds , classic week and metre regatta .Azure also supplies the silverware for a number of fund raising events around the country.
